Welcome    to    my    world!

Greetings, and welcome to my world. Before I go any further, I would like to send out a word of peace to Man, Woman and Child. The times we live in are tough, and we need to stay strong in order to get through them. Now that we're done with the formalities, tell me, how did you find me? I would like to know more about you, so please sign the guestbook before you leave. You're also invited to view my photo album. Thanks for stopping by, now here's a little about me...

All   about   me...

Hail! To the Victors Valiant!
Hail! To the conq'ring heroes!
Hail! Hail! To Michigan, leaders and the best!
Hail! To the Victors Valiant!
Hail! To the conq'ring heroes!
Hail! Hail To Michigan, Champions of the West!

As you can tell, I have some type of affiliation with the University of Michigan -- well I do. I am a former student, a true blue Wolverine. Of course I'm delighted about the 1998 Rose Bowl championship, as I am about the National Championship -- GO BLUE!! Hooray for the 2004 BIG 10 Champs! Another Rose Bowl has come & gone...BOO USC! Visit us at the link posted below, you'll like what you see. UM has a great campus and facilities. Well, the eductaion is superb & the tuition is as expensive as a new Benz. I loved it though, and I hope to go back someday. You never know...

Well, I am also down with the Orangemen of Syracuse University. Much love to the 2003 NCAA Men's Basketball National Champions!! Syracuse doesn't have a fight song, well not one that I know of. Yes, I transferred -- homesickness was a BIG issue. After two years at Michigan, I came back to the East Coast and things were much better. I still rep the Wolverines though =) Syracuse was pretty cool & the weather wasn't that bad. The snow can be fierce, but thanks to El Niņo we didn't get much of anything while I was there. It's a good place to focus on your work & the campus is nice. Visit us at the link below. I graduated in May 1999...

I was a graduate student at Seton Hall University, in the Master's Program for English Literature. Sounds tough huh? Well, there's definitely a lot of work involved. It was serious ride, I can tell you that much. Grad school is NO JOKE. The campus is pretty okay, but it's a smaller university. Somehow, everything worked itself out. I graduated in May 2001 & I was also a faculty member in the English Department. I spent 3 years teaching at the University & I have absolutely no regrets. I had wonderful students & I sincerely love what I do, so what more can I ask for?

Now, at last, I am working on my Ph.D. at Temple University. I still have absolutely no idea what to expect, but I am willing to make the necessary efforts to get through. I first arrived in 2002, but am still new to Philly, so I can't speak on it; I think it'll be palatable for the next 5-7 years. Hopefully, I won't be stuck here for longer than that, haha!

As for hobbies, the biggest one is that I'm a writer. Check out an OLD hypertext version of my manuscript at the link below; this was a class project my senior year. Also, I am a member of Phi Sigma Pi (ΦΣΠ) National Honor Fraternity, Inc. I became a member Fall 1998 & I have been all about the purple & gold since =) Nobody does it better...

It is very important to me that my Black people be uplifted as well as other oppressed and marginalized peoples. I am a firm believer in education and self-determination, which is something that is crucial in this struggle we call life. As the great Frederick Douglass said, "Without struggle, there is no progress." Stay strong and keep the Faith...

Peace and love,
